NEW YORK, Dec. 17 (UPI) — People have taken to Twitter this week to denounce Donald Trump’s views on undocumented Mexican immigrants and Muslims, using the label #WhitesAgainstTrump.
The hashtag was started last week, but picked up steam earlier this week after comedian W. Kamau Bell wrote a letter to Salon calling for white people to denounce Trump’s rhetoric.
“Stop acting like Trump isn’t the pinnacle and the result of America’s history and tradition of white supremacy,” Bell wrote, calling on white people to denounce Trump as the black community denounces prominent African-Americans who do not reflect the community as a whole.
“Whenever Raven-Symone pops off, we put her cap back on. We even handled Rachel Dolezal for you.”
The hashtag trended during Tuesday’s GOP presidential debate in Las Vegas, with people decrying the candidate’s stances on Muslims and undocumented immigrants./article>
