NEW YORK, Dec. 2 (UPI) — GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump appeared on a libertarian web show where he was asked to weigh in on whether President Barack Obama should be impeached..Trump granted a 30-minute interview to The Alex Jones show, part of InfoWars.com, widely regarded as a far-right conspiracy theory website. In the past, Jones became famous for promoting the theory that the 9/11 terrorist attacks were an “inside job.”.New York Magazine has called Jones “America’s leading (and proudest) conspiracy theorist.”.Jones launched the interview by asking about 9/11, claiming Trump had been “vindicated” repeatedly in his claim that thousands of Muslims in Jersey City, N.J., were seen celebrating as the twin towers fell on Sept. 11, 2001.The claim has been widely contested by media outlets. Last week, John J. Farmer Jr., New Jersey’s attorney general at the time of the attacks, told The New York Times the rumors of celebrations were just that: rumors
“I knew it happened and I held my line. People wanted me to apologize, and we can’t do that,” Trump responded. “People like you and me can’t do that so easily.”
InfoWars sells supplements with names like “Brain Force,” and “DNA Force.” The latter claims to “energize mitochondrial function” and protect against “environmental toxins.” Commercials for the supplements, voiced by Jones himself, aired during the interview with Trump.
Jones later asked Trump if it was time for Congress to bring impeachment proceedings against President Barack Obama.
“The best thing that we have going with Obama is he’s got a year left, OK? Because by the time you do the hearings and everything,” Trump responded.
