CHICAGO, Nov. 27 (UPI) — Chicago police arrested a person in the shooting death of 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee, killed in a gang-related retaliation against his father.
Police made the announcement early Friday on Twitter but gave no details. Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said a press conference later Friday would give more information.
On Nov. 2, the fourth-grader was lured into an alley and shot multiple times, with the fatal shot to his head. He had been going to play basketball near his grandmother’s house.
His death sparked outrage across Chicago. At least two people have been questioned as persons of interest in the case but there have been no arrests until now.
