HIGHLAND, Utah, March 13, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have identified a woman who died at the scene of a sedan-pickup truck collision Monday night in Highland.
The victim was sedan passenger Patty Neilson, 79. Her husband, who was driving the sedan, was hospitalized after the accident, as was the male driver of the pickup.
The names of the injured have not been released, Detective Dave Ventrano, Lone Peak Police Department, told Gephardt Daily.
The accident happened at about 9 p.m. at the intersection of 5300 West (Alpine Highway) and 11000 North (Timanogos Highway).
“The sedan was heading east and turning north,” Ventrano said. “A pickup was traveling west on Timpanogos Highway, and struck a sedan.”
The truck T-boned the car in the passenger side.
Sgt. Charlie Thurston, LPPD, told Gephardt Daily at the scene that both men were transported to the hospital with “moderate to severe injuries.” Their injuries were not life-threatening.
Thurston said there was no indication of impairment, “no red flags.”
Ventrano said he was awaiting an update on the men’s conditions. Gephardt Daily will have additional information as it becomes available.
