Pedestrian Killed Attempting To Cross State Street
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – June 13, 2015 – Gephardt Daily
A 26-year-old man was killed Friday night around 11 p.m. after being hit by an SUV while crossing State Street near 3900 South.
According to Unified Police Lt. Ken Hansen, the victim, whose name has yet be released, was walking against the light when he was struck by the northbound vehicle and thrown across several lanes of traffic.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
State Street was closed throughout much of the night.
Police say drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the accident.
Their investigation is continuing.
