June 29 (UPI) — Prince William and Prince Harry will honor late mom Princess Diana on her birthday in July.
People reported the British royals will attend a service to rededicate Princess Diana’s grave July 1, which would have been the Princess of Wales’ 56th birthday.
The private service will take place at Althorp House outside London. Prince William and Prince Harry will be joined by Prince William’s wife, Kate Middleton, and children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
“The service, which will fall on what would have been the Princess’s birthday, will be conducted by The Archbishop of Canterbury and attended by her family,” Kensington Palace confirmed in a statement.
Prince William and Prince Harry also have plans in place to honor Princess Diana with a statue at Kensington Palace. The brothers announced the project in a statement in January.
“It has been twenty years since our mother’s death and the time is right to recognize her positive impact in the UK and around the world with a permanent statue,” the siblings said.
“Our mother touched so many lives. We hope the statue will help all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on her life and her legacy,” the pair added.
Prince William and Prince Harry were 15 and 12 years old, respectively, when Princess Diana died at age 36 in 1997. Prince William recently told British GQ it makes him “sad” his mom “will never know” his family.
