WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, May 15, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Hunter High School was evacuated of remaining students and teachers Wednesday, after the school day had ended, because of a bomb threat.

Most people already had left the campus, in West Valley City, Principal Ryan Oaks said in a statement he issued.

“Out of an abundance of caution, Hunter High has been evacuated due to an unsubstantiated bomb threat,” says the message, issued at 3 p.m.

“This occurred after school had ended and most students had left campus for the day. The students and staff who remained on campus for after-school or extracurricular activities were evacuated and are accounted for and have been sent home for the day.

“To be clear, students were never in any danger and the evacuation protocol was initiated out of an abundance of caution to ensure student safety. The building is being cleared and we do not expect our operations to be impacted tomorrow.

“Thanks for your patience and support as we work to keep our students and staff safe.”
