TOOELE, Utah, Oct. 4, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A man who died in a single-vehicle rollover on Interstate 80 in Tooele Monday evening has been identified.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said Tuesday morning the victim was Jose N. Medina, 56, from Salt Lake City.

The accident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. near milepost 82 on eastbound I-80, Royce said.

A 2006 Suzuki SUV was traveling eastbound when it drifted off the roadway to the left. The driver overcorrected to the right, causing the vehicle to slide sideways. The Suzuki started to roll as it came back onto the roadway. It rolled across both travel lanes and off the right shoulder.

The vehicle came to rest on the driver’s side, facing west.

Medical personnel attended to the only occupant, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
