Police say suspect robbed Provo store, used pepper spay on clerk

PROVO, Utah, May 16, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for a suspect accused of robbing a Provo convenience store and using pepper spray on an employee early Thursday.

Police say the suspect was wearing a black face covering and a hoodie when he robbed the Maverik at 325 S. State St. about 3 a.m.

“The suspect discharged pepper spray at the night clerk during the incident,” Provo police said in a news release. “He left the store on foot and was last seen on surveillance heading eastbound along 300 South.”

The suspect is described as male, with average height and build. He was wearing a navy jacket, light-colored hoodie, and teal and navy tennis shoes.
