WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, May 17, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Highway Patrol has released the name of a Murray woman hit and killed Thursday after her car blew a tire on SR-201.

According to a statement by the UHP, Murray resident, Tiffany Smith, 42, was traveling eastbound on SR-201 at 3600 West about 10:30 a.m. when the White Chevy Malibu she was in blew a tire.

After slowing to a stop in the left lane, Smith got out of the vehicle and walked to the back of the car, where the UHP says she was hit from behind and by an eastbound Honda Odyssey.

Smith died at the scene.

Eastbound SR-201 traffic was diverted onto Bangerter Highway.

Gephardt Daily will update the story as more information becomes available.
