MIDVALE, Utah, July 24, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials have identified the motorcyclist killed Sunday night when he collided with a car in Midvale.
The victim was 29-year-old Steven Colgate, of Murray.
The accident occurred at 7500 S. State St. According to Unified Police Detective Ken Hansen, at 8:37 p.m. the motorcycle was traveling southbound on State Street, and a green car on 7500 made a left turn, going north to west.
The motorcycle collided with the center of the vehicle, resulting in Colgate’s death.
Another car was hit as a result of the crash, Hansen said, but it only had minor damage.
According to officials, Colgate was not wearing a helmet, which could have improved the chances of survival in this case.
