Anyone with information is asked to call SGPD at 435-627-4300, reference incident no. 23P032456.

The same case number and contact phone is listed on a Utah Department of Public Safety cold case missing person entry on the Utah Department of Public Safety’s website. “On November 16, 2023, Courtney Townsend took her mother’s car in St. George, Utah without her permission,” reads the DPS post.

“A few days later the vehicle was located in Kane County, Utah. Family and friends have not been able to locate or communicate with Courtney ever since.”

For identifying features, in addition to the physical description, the DPS lists: Tattoo on left wrist stating “‘Love.” Tattoo on right wrist stating “Fear.” Tattoo on left hip stating “Independence.” Tattoo on right foot stating “Dalton.” Tattoo on abdomen with flames and crosses. Tattoo on chest with cherries.

The “Where is Courtney” Facebook page, with 758 followers, created shortly after her disappearance, is a litany of pleas for help, to share info, full of photos of the impish missing woman, including her green hair period. The family on the site says the abandoned car was also burned, which, for whatever reason, law enforcement has omitted in its alerts.

The page also features mention of scammers offering alleged help, sometimes requests for help paying the private investigator involved, occasional police updates, announcements of prayer and candle vigils, but mostly pleas for info, and hope. A GoFundMe page was started May. 10.
