CENTERVILLE, Utah, May 7, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A young man was arrested Monday after a Centerville police officer said he saw him burglarizing a vehicle in the area of Cherry Lane and Peachtree Drive.

Shane Tristan Lessley, 18, was taken into custody shortly after 3:30 a.m. and was subsequently booked into Davis County Jail on two felony counts of financial transaction card offenses and 12 counts of vehicle burglary.

Centerville Police Sgt. Will Barnes told Gephardt Daily that Lessley confessed to some of the burglaries, and officials are still investigating whether he was involved in others, based on evidence.

Barnes wasn’t sure if any of the vehicles had been broken into, but he said some were definitely unlocked when they were burglarized. He said it’s just another reminder for everyone to lock their vehicles and not leave any valuables in them.
