SANDY, Utah, Feb. 9, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — An 18-year-old man was taken into custody early Friday morning after police say he threatened his parents with a gun, then went to his non-functional car to sleep and refused to surrender to police.
Dominick Curran Weber, who is homeless, reportedly went to his parents’ apartment, at 8176 S. 1300 East, to ask if he could sleep there for the night.
His parents did not allow Curran Weber to enter. The young man returned at about 3 a.m. and tried to get into the apartment through a sliding glass door. When his father responded, Curran Weber reportedly pulled a gun.
He then ran to his car, which was in the apartment parking lot, but which was not functional. Curran Weber was sleeping in his car when the SWAT team arrived. He refused to get out of the car, and eventually, teargas was used to subdue him.
Sandy police officials say no injuries were reported.
