MILLCREEK, Utah, Feb. 10, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A cellphone video showing a teenage girl being kicked and beaten by other teens inside a Millcreek home Thursday has caught the eye of police investigators.
Lt. Brian Lohrke of the Unified Police Department told Gephardt Daily the incident came to light after parents and students called dispatchers and reported the video was being shared on social media.
The 54 second clip begins with a teen victim screaming and pleading while being beaten and kicked by another girl.
A group of other teens looks on during the attack. A few of them pull out their cell phones to record the assault.
The victim attempts to leave the room, but is attacked again as a male teen joins in the assault, punching the frightened girl in the face.
Lt. Lohrke said detectives from Millcreek were looking into the case and that criminal charges were being considered.
Lohrke stressed the investigation was in its early stages and there was more to the story than was captured on video.
All of those present at the home during the assault were minors, according to investigators.
Gephardt Daily is following the story and will provide an update as more information becomes available.
