Can’t Help Fallon In Love
Jimmy Fallon reached his one year mark as host of The Tonight Show Tuesday evening. The show featured Taylor Swift, John Oliver and Utah natives Imagine Dragons.
While starting the show off with monologue about kid’s moms drinking wine, Obama and a New York islanders fan, Fallon later said “I can’t believe it’s been a year already, I am so lucky to have this job, and thanks to everyone who watches and supports the show.” The Tonight Show host also thanked his staff, crew, co-host Steve Higgins, and Tonight Show band The Roots.
Reflecting on how he used to have a Ben and Jerry’s ice cream flavor called the “Late Night Snack,” Fallon surprised the crowd with his announcement of the new Ben and Jerry’s ice cream flavor called “The Tonight Dough.” The newest snack can be found in select stores.
Ice cream snacks weren’t the only thing that Fallon reflected on; he sat with Taylor Swift and reminisced about their times as “famous jumbotron dancers.” Don’t worry though, Fallon collected footage from the New York arenas, creating a montage of moments they made it on the jumbotron.
The former “Saturday Night Live” star and “Late Night” host took over the Tonight Show after Jay Leno announced his retirement from 22 years of hosting. Last year Fallon made big changes by moving the show back to its original stomping grounds in New York City, where the city never sleeps.
Fallon is famous for his thank you notes, pros and cons, and sketches with guests. But the Gephardt Daily crew has Fallon’s top five moments as the Tonight Show host:
1. The time Fallon and Justin Timberlake created the fifth in the series “The History of Rap.”

2. Fallon’s interview with Bradley Cooper, where instead of a discussion about Cooper’s stage production of “The Elephant Man,” the only thing heard in the interview was a full three minutes and twelve seconds of laughter as the two got an attack of the giggles while wearing visors with frosted tips.

3. Fallon battling against Joseph Gordon Levitt and Stephen Merchant in a lip sync competition.
