Shooting in Mesa Apartment Complex
Just after 8:30 a.m. today local time, police responded to a possible shooting at a Bistro. After that first call, police received other calls from locations near the campus of the East Valley Institute of Technology. The Mesa Community College’s nearby campus has been locked down, school officials said.
ABC 15 spoke to the man who made the 9-11 call, he said that there was a women who was in her apartment when the suspect ran inside and tried to rob her. He started asking her for her phone, car keys, and she was able to get away. She contacted a man in the parking lot and he then heard gun shots and called 9-11.
Police are searching any car that goes out of the complex. They are searching specifically for a grey Honda Accord and believe that the suspect is a white bald male in his 40’s wearing a black shirt, black shorts and has a tattoo on his neck.
Members of the Gilbert Police Department’s SWAT team are also helping Mesa authorities search for the suspect.
There have been six victims and one victim is officially deceased.
A man hunt is under way right now.
