WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH – October 2, 2015  (Gephardt Daily) – A woman who was killed after her vehicle veered from the freeway and off the overpass on I-215 Friday morning has been identified.
According to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce, a call came in around 3:30 a.m. of an accident on I-215 and 3100 South. When officers arrived, they found the driver had veered off the freeway and landed on the road underneath the overpass.
Sgt. Royce said the driver, 21-year-old Kimberly Buchanan, of Bountiful, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene. “We are not sure what caused her to veer off to the side of the freeway as the investigation is still ongoing,” Royce said. “It was raining, and it is possible that fatigue may have caused the accident.”
Detectives said there were no indications of drugs or alcohol playing a factor in the accident.
