SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – October 3, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has named three new leaders to the Quorum of Twelve Apostles.
Elder Ronald A. Rasband, Elder Gary E. Stevenson and Elder Dale G. Renlund, were named to the positions by President Henry B. Eyring during the LDS Church’s 185th Semiannual General Conference Saturday in Salt Lake City.
The newly appointed apostles fill the vacancies created by recents deaths of Quorum members Elder Tom Perry, President Boyd. K. Packer and Elder Richard G. Scott.
It’s been more than a century since the Quorum of the Twelve had three simultaneous vacancies.
Elder Renlund’s appointment marks the 100th LDS apostle to serve in the Church since it was first organized in 1830.
