AUSTIN, TX – October 13, 2015 — (UPI) — While actor Shia LaBeouf was being arrested for alleged public intoxication over the weekend, reports reveal he was also confrontational with officers, even calling one a “silly man.”
According to a police affidavit reported by the Statesman, LaBeouf’s speech was “slurred and thick-tongued and his eyes were glassy and dilated,” when he was confronted by authorities Friday. The actor opted to give a reason why officers should leave him alone, claiming authorities usually let him walk “because police had killed a friend of his.”
While questioning the Transformers actor on a busy street in Austin, police report LaBeouf became “increasingly confrontational, aggravated, profane and verbally aggressive.” He reportedly called an officer a “silly man” several times, as well.
According to the report, the actor was considered a danger to himself and others. He was later released from the Travis County Jail.
