LOS ANGELES, Feb. 12 (UPI) — Barry Manilow is “doing well” in his recovery following his recent emergency surgery.

“Barry is out of surgery and doing well. His doctors report that the surgery was successful and they expect no further complications,” his publicist Victoria Varela said in a statement Friday.

“For the next 48 hours, Manilow has been instructed not to talk, sing, or rap. Barry thanks everyone for their well wishes and concern,” the statement continued.

Manilow was rushed to a hospital Thursday after suffering complications from emergency oral surgery. The ordeal forced the legendary singer to cancel his Thursday and Friday shows in Highland Heights and Nashville as part of his One Last Time! tour.

“Following a triumphant sold-out concert in Memphis, Barry Manilow was rushed back to Los Angeles due to complications from emergency oral surgery that Manilow had on Monday, ” a press release stated Thursday.

“At this time, it is unclear if Manilow will be able to attend the Grammy Awards on Monday, Feb. 15, where he is nominated for his 15th Grammy Award for his latest album, My Dream Duets,” the statement continued.
