PROVO, Utah, April 12, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Brigham Young University’s Cougarettes gave it their all last week at the National Dance Association competition, and ended up coming home with something extra.
A 16th national championship title.
Dancing to choreography by Karl Mundt and Kenzie Symanietz, the team earned a final score of 9.92, and took the 2016 Jazz 1A National Championship.
With a score of 9.691, the Cougarettes placed second in the Division 1A Hip-Hop competition, choreographed by Shandon Kohlberg Perez.
The Cougarettes last won a national championship title in 2015 in the hip-hop competition.
