NEW YORK, May 16 (UPI) — Barbra Streisand has a new album and tour in the works.
The 74-year-old singer announced the news on her website Monday, revealing she will release the duets album “Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway” after kicking off a 10-date tour in August.
“The Music… The Mem’ries… The Magic!” tour will celebrate Streisand’s accomplishment as the only recording artist to achieve No. 1 albums in each of the past six decades. The star will perform hits from each decade, as well as songs from the new album.
Streisand will kick off the tour Aug. 2 in Los Angeles and bring it to a close Aug. 23 in Toronto. The tour includes two dates at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., the borough where the singer grew up.
“Encore,” meanwhile, will see the 10-time Grammy winner partner with “some of Hollywood’s biggest stars to sing Broadway classics.” Collaborators have yet to be announced, although “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” star Daisy Ridley revealed she recorded with Streisand in March.
Streisand last released a duets album “Partners” in 2014. The album included collaborations with male singers like John Legend, John Mayer and Andrea Bocelli. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
