PRESTON, Idaho, July 2, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A 24-year-old woman from Providence was killed Friday afternoon after the truck she was in rolled down an embankment near Preston, Idaho.
Idaho State Police said they were called to a single-vehicle crash at 4:30 p.m. on northbound US-91 at milepost 12.1.
A police statement said James Cook, 53, was driving a 2001 Ford F-250 pickup with a fifth wheel camper trailer and a utility trailer. He was traveling with three passengers, Debra Cook, 51, Julie Cook, 24 Blaine Cook, 21, all of Providence.
Cook lost control of his truck and trailers and went over the guardrail, rolling down a steep embankment.
Julie Cook sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The three others in the vehicle were transported by ground ambulance to Franklin County Medical Center in Preston. Their conditions have not been made available.
Police said all of the occupants were wearing seatbelts.
