SOUTHERN UTAH, Oct. 10, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A popular HBO television series is looking for extras for its second season filming in Southern Utah later this month.
“Westworld” tells the story of a futuristic amusement park, intended for rich vacationers, which is looked after by robotic “hosts.” The park allows its visitors to live out their fantasies through artificial consciousness.
The show, which is based on the 1973 Michael Crichton movie of the same name, features a cast including Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, James Marsden, Evan Rachel Wood and Thandie Newton.
A news release from Bill Dance Casting said male and female extras are needed.
The show is looking for American Indians, Chinese people, “Western men and women” and military types, the release says. “All types needed, all ethnicities, and all ages.” Extras need to be 18 or older.
The show will film in mid-to late-October in Southern Utah, though it’s not specified exactly where. The second season of “Westworld” is due to debut in spring 2018, HBO announced in July.
Men can have facial hair, beards, mustaches or mutton chops of the era, but can also be clean-shaven. Women should have longer natural hair that is one color.
According to the release, “all people must be local hire and legal to work,” and extras will be compensated for their time.
Men are asked to include their height, weight, jacket, shirt, pant and shoe size, when they apply by email, and women are asked to include their height, weight, dress size, bust, waist, hips and shoe size.
If you are interested, you should email a natural photo of yourself with your name, phone number and complete sizes to [email protected].
The show was nominated for a whopping 22 Emmys in 2017, and tied with NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” as the most-nominated show this year. It won three in technical categories: sound mixing, makeup and hairstyling.
The first trailer for season two of “Westworld” premiered at San Diego Comic-Con in July.
