THORNTON, Colo., Nov. 1, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A suspect was taken into custody Thursday morning after an all-night manhunt following the fatal shooting of three people in a Walmart in Thornton, Colorado.

Scott Ostrem, 47, is suspected of being the shooter who killed three people, two men and a woman, in the city, northeast of the Denver metro area.

Police were called to the store at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Just before 9 p.m. Mountain Time, the Thornton Police Department confirmed that two men were dead and one woman was wounded and taken to the hospital.

About an hour later, a tweet from the Thornton Police Department confirmed that the woman transported to the hospital had died.

The store was evacuated and officers from multiple jurisdictions converged on the scene.

One Denver TV station is reporting as many as 30 shots were fired inside the store. That report had not been corroborated by police.

Police reported Thursday morning that it appears those who died were targeted at random. Others in the store were able to hide, according to reports.
