PAYSON, Utah, April 22, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 32-year-old Payson man has been charged with 10 counts of second-degree felony sexual exploitation of a minor, officials said.
Brian Wayne Raade was booked into the Utah County Jail on Sunday with bail set at $50,000, cash only, the Utah County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Over the past several months, investigators with the Special Victims Unit of the UCSO have been investigating a case in which videos and images of child pornography were being downloaded to a computer at a home in Payson, the news release said.
Based on information investigators collected, they obtained and executed a search warrant at that home at approximately 7 a.m. Sunday.
“They found evidence which included multiple videos depicting adult males raping and sexually assaulting young girls and boys ranging in age from infants just a few months old to pre-pubescent,” the news release said.
The home owner, Raade, admitted to investigators that he has been downloading child pornography weekly, specifically involving videos depicting infants being raped and otherwise sexually assaulted, for several years.
During the investigation, detectives learned that a man living in Raade’s home, Scott David Leinbach, 56, also of Payson, was in possession of numerous firearms, knives, swords and spears. Leinbach was also in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
He was not booked into jail, but charges of possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person and drug-related charges will be filed. He will face five third-degree felony charges of possession of a dangerous weapon by a category II restricted person for the firearms. He will also face multiple class A misdemeanor charges of possession of a dangerous weapon by a category II restricted person for being in possession of the knives, swords, and the spear.
Leinbach will also face charges related to being in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Leinbach is considered a category II restricted person because he has been convicted multiple times for felony charges and because he is an unlawful user of a controlled substance.
