SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Oct. 10, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials are searching for two suspects following an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven in Salt Lake City in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred at the convenience store at 1157 W. California Ave., just after 5 a.m., the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.
“Two Polynesian men entered the 7-Eleven with their faces covered,” the news release said. “One was armed with a handgun. They demanded that the clerk open the safe. When the clerk was unable to open the safe one suspect jumped over the counter and opened the till.”
The suspects removed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled southbound on foot.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.
