No injuries after officer-involved shooting in Tooele

TOOELE, Utah, Oct. 10, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A Tooele police officer fired several shots at a man early Wednesday morning while investigating an alleged domestic violence altercation.

Tooele City Police Department officials said a woman walked to a gas station and called authorities late Tuesday night to report altercation with her boyfriend. She had facial injuries, and was transported to an area hospital for treatment, officials said.

The man allegedly involved in the incident, who is on parole, was located at a home in the area of 100 W. 800 North in Tooele at approximately 12:30 a.m. At some point, the man produced a weapon, and one of the officers then fired several shots at the man.

No one was hit or injured, and police were able to take the man into custody. He was subsequently booked into Tooele County Jail.

The suspect has not been identified by police. No further details of the domestic assault were immediately provided.
