LOGAN, Utah, Jan. 3, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A SWAT situation that followed an armed robbery in Logan has been resolved, but details are still being sorted out.

Logan City Police officials were dispatched to an armed robbery at about 4:30 a.m. Thursday, and responded to the area of 700 South and 200 West. Officers were able to take two men into custody, but two others got away and fled to a residence a few blocks away, near 600 North and 500 West.

Logan police posted a Facebook statement about the incident just before 9 a.m., asking drivers to avoid the area, where officials were hoping to take the people inside into custody, and SWAT personnel was standing by.

Tyson Budge, patrol captain for the Logan City Police Department, told Gephardt Daily that shortly after that, seven people in the house gave themselves up to police, with one man remaining inside and hoping to sneak out later, Budge said. Police took the eighth man into custody as well. No one was injured in the operation.

In addition, an adult female who police believe was involved in armed robbery at the first location, but who didn’t leave that site when the four male suspects fled, was taken into custody once she was discovered.

Budge saidĀ investigators are interviewing the people taken from the residence to try and determine which two males fled from police after the alleged armed robbery.

“We know we’ve got all our suspects,” Budge said. “We just don’t know which ones we are charging yet. Several of them are admitting to small parts of it.”

Budge said that suspects’ apparent drug use was complicating the interview process.
