CAMP WILLIAMS, Utah, Nov. 18, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews are fighting a brush fire at Camp Williams Monday.

“Eagle Mountain Fire Department and Unified Fire Authority are responding to a fire at Camp Williams,” said a tweet from Utah National Guard at noon. “Be advised, UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters may be flying low over Redwood Road and dipping from Jordan River.”

The fire has burned approximately seven acres, and does not appear to be spreading quickly with current weather conditions, the tweet said.

“Fire danger was low at the time the fire started, approximately 11 a.m.,” the tweet added.

A further tweet at 1 p.m. said the fire has been reduced to only a few active flames, and that air assets are on standby.

The cause of the brush fire is under investigation.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
