Davis County Bomb Squad detonates device found near Kaysville elementary school

KAYSVILLE, Utah, Oct. 20 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The Davis County Bomb Squad responded to a report of a homemade firework or pipe bomb found Saturday at a Kaysville elementary school.

Crews were summoned at about 3:53 p.m. to Endeavour Elementary School, and found the device, deemed suspicious, on the southeast side of the building.

“In response to the potential threat, the Davis County Bomb Squad was called on scene,” a Kaysville Police news release says. “The device was safely detonated and the bomb squad has since collected the remnants for further analysis.

“Officers have conducted a thorough canvass of the surrounding area to identify any additional devices. There is no discernible threat to the community.”
