LOGAN, Utah, July 4, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — The American flag is back on the Quad at Utah State University‘s Logan campus, as part of the annual celebration of Independence Day.

Crew members from the university’s Landscape Operations and Maintenance department cut the grass on the Quad to showcase the flag early Tuesday morning.

The design is expected to last about a week.

The grass on the Quad is watered using canal-fed irrigation water periodically throughout the day to keep the highly used area healthy and green.

USU follows a Landscape Resiliency and Drought Plan which makes protecting State Champion Trees, mature trees, athletic fields, the Quad and other heavily used campus areas a priority.
