DAVIS COUNTY, Utah, July 4, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — Multiple people were hospitalized after two crashes on northbound Interstate 15 in Davis County Saturday evening.

The first crash was dispatched at about 8:22 p.m. after a single vehicle was involved in a rollover, Sgt. Luis Silva, Utah Highway Patrol, told Gephardt Daily. That happened in Bountiful, he said.

“The vehicle had three occupants inside of it. One of the passengers was airlifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The driver was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

“Troopers are still investigating the cause of the crash, but suspect impairment to be a factor.”

The interstate was closed for about an hour before it reopened, Silva said.

A short time after the first accident, someone else heading north on an I-15 ramp failed to notice that traffic had slowed due to the first accident. That driver crashed into the back of another vehicle, and pushed it forward into a third vehicle. That happened in Woods Cross, about a mile further south than the initial crash.

“One driver failed to slow down, they end up striking a Subaru at a high rate of speed, and then that subsequently pushed the Subaru into a third vehicle ahead of it, so the occupants in the Subaru were transported to a nearby hospital, and the ramp was closed for about 30 minutes, but has also since reopened.”

The two people in the Subaru were transported in critical condition, Silva said.
