19-year-old hospitalized in extremely critical condition, hit by tow truck while lying on Main St.

MILLCREEK, Utah, Aug. 18, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A 19-year-old man is fighting for his life after being hit by a tow truck while lying in the southbound lanes of Main Street in Millcreek early Sunday morning.

Unified PD officers and other first responders were called to 4070 S. Main Street about 1:30 a.m. When they arrived they found the critically injured man beneath the back of the truck.

Witnesses told Gephardt Daily the 19-year-old appeared to have been fighting with another man moments before he was hit as he laid in the street. The extent of his injuries prior to being struck by the tow truck remain unclear.

The Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team was called out to try to determine the cause of the accident. They were expected to be on site for at least a couple of hours.

Police told Gephardt Daily there were no signs of impairment where the tow truck driver was concerned.
