LOS ANGELES, Aug. 6 (UPI) — Amal Clooney has made Vanity Fair’s best-dressed list for the first time.
The magazine named the 37-year-old Lebanese-British human rights lawyer the No. 5 best-dressed woman of 2015. U.K. first lady Samantha Cameron came in at No. 1, followed by singer Taylor Swift, ballerina Misty Copeland and Sophie Rhys-Jones, Countess of Wessex.
Vanity Fair listed Giambattista Valli, Dolce & Gabbana, Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen as Clooney’s favorite designers, and named the red Maison Margiela gown she wore to the Met Gala as her Notable Ensemble of 2015.
Clooney is known for her sophisticated style, but faced criticism for her Golden Globes outfit from Kathy Griffin on Fashion Police in January. The barrister’s younger sister, Tala Alamuddin, is also admired for her fashion savvy.
Clooney has represented WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and former Ukraine prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko in her work at Doughty Street Chambers. The lawyer married American actor George Clooney after a five-month engagement in September 2014.
