LOS ANGELES, Dec. 3 (UPI) — Famed character actress Alice Drummond — whose career on stage and screen spanned decades — has died in New York City at the age of 88.
The Rhode Island native’s friend and executor, the actress June Gable, confirmed her Wednesday death to The New York Times.
Drummond died from complications of a fall she suffered about two months ago, Gable said.
The actress’ film credits include “Ghostbusters,” “Awakenings,” “Doubt,” “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,” “To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar,” “Pieces of April,” and “Synecdoche,” New York, Entertainment Weekly noted.
She also appeared on episodes of “Dark Shadows,” “Law & Order” and “Boston Legal.”
