Aug. 12 (UPI) — “Suddenly Susan” and “The Middle” alum Brooke Shields will play a recurring role on “Law & Order: SVU” for Season 19.
“I play a very different character from any I have ever played,” Shields said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m excited to stir the ‘SVU’ pot a bit.”
Little is known about the character other than she will impact the world of New York Police Lieutenant Olivia Benson, played by Mariska Hargitay, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.
“Law & Order: SVU” returns Sept. 27 on NBC. The network retweeted the newspaper’s story about Shields’ casting Friday.
