March 22 (UPI) — Dax Shepard says he loved working with wife and “favorite actor” Kristen Bell on “CHiPs.”
The 42-year-old actor couldn’t help but gush about the 36-year-old actress at the movie’s Los Angeles premiere Monday.
“She gives me a great rate,” Shepard joked in an interview with Variety. “She’s my favorite actor. She’s perfect on every take. It’s very annoying.”
“Every day we blew something up or had a motorcycle crash,” he said of the film, which he also directed. “A lot of action-comedies are comedies with just a splash of action, so this is a bit of a throwback where the humor comes from the action.”
Shepard previously directed and co-starred with Bell in the 2012 movie “Hit and Run.” The couple married in 2013 after six years of dating, and share two daughters, 3-year-old Lincoln and 2-year-old Delta.
“We have a very healthy marriage and we got there by doing therapy when we needed it, and constantly doing fierce moral inventories,” Bell told People on the red carpet.
“We both take responsibility when we are wrong, and I think it is easy to work with him because I married him, because I enjoy spending time with him and I trust him,” she added. “That is exactly what I want in someone that I work with.”
“CHiPs” co-stars Michael Pena, and opens in theaters Friday. Shepard discussed his daughters on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” earlier this month, admitting he accidentally taught Lincoln to curse.
