Since Friends hit Netflix Jan. 1, we’ve been obsessively binge-watching the entire series (yeah we’re definitely in season 8 already), and we know you and everyone else in the world has been too.
While some of us are just re-watching for the sake of reliving every single Chandler joke and Joey one-night stand, some people are watching with the intention of completely blowing our minds.
A reporter at Bustle discovered, with photographic evidence, the reason that the couch at Central Perk was always available for our friends, and it is possibly the simplest explanation ever. Are you ready? Here it is: There’s a small “Reserved” placard on the table in front of the couch in multiple episodes.
Mind = Blown
Yup, there’s no conspiracy and we don’t have to just believe that the couch was always just because. It was simply reserved for the guys. And here’s the proof:

If you think about it, it does make sense, considering that Rachel and Joey both worked at Central Perk and the gang lived right upstairs, so they were probably close enough with the owners (and Gunther) to merit their own area.
Okay so now we have to go back and start re-watching again, because clearly there’s a bunch more stuff that we’ve been missing.
