Feb. 20 (UPI) — Priscilla Presley has taken to social media to confirm that she is caring for her daughter Lisa Marie Presley‘s twin daughters as their father Michael Lockwood is investigated for child abuse.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for ‘all’ your positive support,” Priscilla wrote on Facebook Sunday alongside a photo of 8-year-old twins Finley and Harper to dismiss reports that they had been taken into foster care.
“There is Lots of confusion, commotion and concern from all the talk circulating,” she continued in a second post alongside a photo of the children playing inside a swimming pool.
“Let me put this to rest… the girls have not been in foster care and never will be. The girls have been with me and will be until all this is sorted out.”
Lisa had claimed in court papers in February as part of her and Lockwood’s ongoing divorce proceedings that the children were taken from their custody and that Lockwood was the subject of a criminal investigation involving hundreds of inappropriate photos of children that authorities found on his electronic devices People magazine reports.
The family was in Beverly Hills when the child abuse allegations were made in June 2016. Beverly Hills police have confirmed they served a search warrant “at a resident in the City of Beverly Hills that led to the seizure of several items” and that the investigation has been referred to authorities in Tennessee, who are still investigating if a crime had taken place.
Lockwood’s lawyer Jeff Sturman denied the claims in a statement to Us Weekly calling Lisa’s filing “very unfortunate and inappropriate.”
Lisa, 49, had originally filed for divorce from Lockwood, 55, in June of 2016 citing irreconcilable differences and had requested full custody of the twins.
