Shia LaBeouf Needed 20 Stitches, 13 Staples to Close Wounds from Movie-set Stunt

WILLISTON, N.D., June 28 (UPI) — Shia LaBeouf is recovering from wounds he sustained while doing a stunt on the North Dakota set of his movie American Honey.

TMZ reported the 29-year-old actor was wrapped in layers of bandages after he cut his scalp, left ear and right, index finger while intentionally smashing his head through a glass window for a scene.

The actor needed 20 stitches and 13 staples to close the gashes he sustained Thursday in Williston.

LaBeouf and director Andrea Arnold reportedly agreed he would do the stunt himself for the sake of authenticity. He even did it a second time after he was hurt, but escaped further injury.

The former Even Stevens star’s film credits include the Transformers franchise,Disturbia, Nymphomaniac and Fury.
