‘Split’ is the No. 1 movie in North America for a third week

Feb. 5 (UPI) — The James McAvoy-led thriller “Split” is the No. 1 movie in North America for a third weekend, earning an additional $14.6 million in receipts, BoxOfficeMojo.com announced Sunday.

Coming in at No. 2 with $13 million is “Rings,” followed by “A Dog’s Purpose” at No. 3 with $10.8 million, “Hidden Figures” at No. 4 with $10.1 million and “La La Land” at No. 5 with $7.5 million.

Rounding out the top tier are “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” at No. 6 with $4.5 million, “Sing” at No. 7 with $4.08 million, “Lion” at No. 8 with $4.01 million, “The Space Between Us” at No. 9 with $3.8 million and “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage” at No. 10 with $3.7 million.
