GRAND JUNCTION – December 21, 2015 — (UPI) — Taylor Swift continued to warm the hearts of fans in need when she visited 12-year-old Delaney Clements who is suffering from cancer.
Swift gave Clements an early Christmas present Saturday when she surprised the young fan at home making a detour to Colorado while on her way to Tennessee.
“I was just laying down taking a nap in my room when my mom said I had a visitor. And I thought it might just be another person coming to see how I was,” Clements wrote on Instagram alongside a happy selfie of herself and Swift.
“Then suddenly the most amazing miracle happens… The Taylor Swift walked into my bedroom and spent the afternoon with me just talking and hanging!!!! I am beyond Blessed for everyone’s help and support!!! Thank you!!! Happy holidays!!” she continued.
Clements who is diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma caught the attention of the pop-star after she created the nonprofit organization Delaney Donates which helps local families affected by cancer, and when friends and family started campaigning for the meet-up using the hashtag #DelaneyMeetTaylor.
The “Bad Blood” singer also shared the experience on Instagram posting a photo collage of her visit including when she first surprised Clements and other photos she took with her family. “Merry Christmas Baby,” Swift captioned the post.
Earlier this month, Clements’ mother Wendy Campbell updated fans on Facebook about her condition announcing that the cancer had spread to her head. The family, she explained, decided to keep her “as comfortable as possible to keep her spirits uplifted as she travels on a journey we fought so hard to avoid.”
In November, Swift made another fan’s dream come true when she met with 12-year-old Jorja Hope who suffers from hearing loss.
