Aug. 7 (UPI) — “The Dark Tower” is the No. 1 movie in North America, earning $19.5 million in receipts this weekend, BoxOfficeMojo.com announced Sunday.
Coming in at No. 2 is “Dunkirk” with $17.6 million, followed by “The Emoji Movie” at No. 3 with $12.4 million, “Girls Trip” at No. 4 with $11.4 million and “Kidnap” at No. 5 with $10.2 million.
Rounding out the top tier are “Spider-Man: Homecoming” at No. 6 with $8.8 million, “Atomic Blonde” at No. 7 with $8 million, “Detroit” at No. 8 with $7.8 million, “War for the Planet of the Apes” at No. 9 with $6 million and “Despicable Me 3” at No. 10 with $5.3 million.
