March 24 (UPI) — Vanessa Hudgens says she’s “completely lost contact” with Zac Efron.
The 28-year-old actress confessed in an interview with Access Hollywood that she no longer talks to her 29-year-old ex-boyfriend and “High School Musical” co-star.
“No, that’s not a thing that happens,” she said when asked if she and Efron keep in touch. “I completely lost contact with him.”
Hudgens and Efron played love interests Gabriella Montez and Troy Bolton in “High School Musical,” which premiered on the Disney Channel in 2006. The pair reprised the roles in two sequels, “High School Musical 2” and “High School Musical 3: Senior Year.”
“I mean, I’m 28,” the actress told E! News this week when asked if she will appear in “High School Musical 4.” “I could be a teacher, but I refuse to be a teacher! I’m still a teenager at heart. So probably not with me, but I’m excited to see what they whip together.”
“Just have fun,” she advised the new cast. “We were just kids running around having fun.”
Hudgens and Efron dated after meeting through “High School Musical,” but split in 2010 after five years together. The actress told the New York Times in 2015 that she was “fed up” with women chasing Efron during their relationship.
“I went through a phase when I was really mean because I was so fed up,” she admitted. “Girls were running after him, and I was giving them death stares.”
Hudgens presently plays Emily Locke on the NBC series “Powerless.” Efron will next star in the movie “Baywatch” with Dwayne Johnson, and discussed wearing heels for the film in a tweet Wednesday.
