What “Game of Thrones” Memorabilia Should You Collect?
April 26, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Pop culture expert Aaron Sagers talked to us about the most desirable “Game of Thrones” memorabilia. “One of my favorites is the ‘Inside HBO’s Game of Thrones” book,” said Sagers. “Which allows you to get a recap of some of the events that have taken place in the show, to learn about the characters and the houses that are on the series, and to learn about the sets and special effects and things of that nature.
He also showed off the Khal Drogo figurine. “I feel very powerful being next to this Khal Drogo figure right here,” he said.
“I fully endorse people having a ‘Game of Thrones’ party but you have to decide what house you are affiliated to,” he added. “We have the home banners behind us, they’re not just for riding into battle, display them in your house, for home decor, to show who you have loyalty for, who you hope wins ‘Game of Thrones.’ Even items such as this, the Knight of Flowers which is painstakingly re-created, you can get that and display and this shows you mean battle.”
Probably the most valuable piece of ‘Thrones’ memorabilia is The Iron Throne of Westeros for $30,000. At an intimidating height of seven feet, this hand-painted Fiberglas replica of the Iron Throne can be yours for the price of your average new four-door sedan. It may not be the most comfortable chair in the world, nor was it forged with the steel of a thousand swords over the course of 59 days, but it will most certainly command the attention of your guests.
