SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, July 26, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The victim of an early morning homicide near Pioneer Park has been identified.

The deceased is Shawn J. Manymules, 26, the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.

Salt Lake City police Lt. Dave Cracroft told Gephardt Daily officers were called to the scene at 360 S. 400 West at 1:39 a.m.

When the police arrived, they found a group of bystanders performing CPR on Manymules, who was lying in front of the 360 Apartments just west of Pioneer Park.

Medical personnel took over first-aid attempts and found Manymules had been shot twice in the chest. He was pronounced dead a short while later.

Investigators say witnesses reported hearing multiple gun shots, but no one police talked to actually witnessed the shooting.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact the Salt Lake City Police Department.
