1 killed in I-80 rollover in Tooele County

TOOELE COUNTY, Utah, Aug. 26, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — One man is dead after a single-vehicle rollover on Interstate 80 in Tooele County Sunday evening.

A silver minivan was traveling on I-80 near milepost 99 just after 5 p.m., the Utah Highway Patrol said in a news release.

“For an unknown reason, the driver, an unnamed male, lost control of his vehicle. The minivan rolled several times, ejecting the male driver,” the release said.

The man died at the scene and was later identified asĀ 39-year-old Alejandro Perez.

A 5-year-old child in the vehicle who was properly restrained suffered only minor injuries.
