1 taken to hospital, 1 in custody after Sunday shooting in Clinton

CLINTON, Utah, May 5, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Police took one person into custody Sunday afternoon following a shooting that sent another person to an area hospital.

Emergency dispatchers received a call about 4:45 p.m. that a person had been shot and was in need of medical assistance near 1090 N. 750 West, Clinton police said.

Officers arrived and safely took a suspect into custody, police said. The extent of the shooting victim’s injuries was not disclosed.

“At this time there are no outstanding suspects, and no active threat to the community,” Clinton police said on social media.

The shooting is under investigation, and no other information was immediately released.
